This is the first CNC machine that ever put my hands on when I was 18 years old working at hardwood designs and Hillsborough North Carolina. I learned everything on this machine in 2008 so it's kind of a dating machine but we never had any issues with it It was a workhorse and the ability to manually put in programs was amazing, I thought it was a terrible idea to be able to do this but I was also a young kid and now that I've used several different kinds of machines I just thought that being able to do it manually helped tremendously when troubleshooting certain programs. Now that I'm in the market for a machine myself I will definitely be going to shopbot. I love this a local Durham company and that if I have issues I can literally drive to the place and ask questions though every phone call of every had with him the customer service has been amazing I personally want things you shotbot for giving me the bug when I was so young now that I'm 36 I will always have a nostalgic place in my heart for your machines!! I purchased my ShopBot PRS Alpha 96-60-6 Table with 2.2HP HSD Spindle in 2008. It has been a great addition for my sign business in helping us create beautiful signs. ShopBot's customer support is simply outstanding. Entirely from my own undoing, I recently ran into an issue with my 18-year-old PRS Alpha. I contacted ShopBot support and was connected with team member Aaron Brown. He stepped in and walked me through getting everything back up and running. Even after all these years, and even when the fault was mine, they treated me like their most important customer. That kind of support is genuinely hard to find, and it's one more reason I am proud to have purchased a ShopBot for my sign business.

Thank you Brian for your patience and concern. I have had my Bot for 24 years now and have built 28 boats and plugs up to 28' along with other projects. I have had trouble only twice and the people at Shopbot Tools were there immediately to help me get back running again. Thanks again .........................David

Their hardware is pretty good actually. They seem to do things their own way, on the hardware end it works. On the other hand, there's software is abysmal. I am sure it was a programming masterpiece in 1990. I'm not sure how they got .net to do the things that it's doing, but now it is buggy unintuitive and generally a nightmare to use. They claim to be coming out with a modern software solution. I can't wait to see it. One of their saving graces has been their very responsive and helpful technical support. Given their software, it's pretty much a necessity. Unfortunately I've been having some trouble with them lately. Longing the short of it is I would be hesitant to buy another machine from them unless it fit a very specific need. In our case it came disassembled so we could fit it in our elevator.

I've owned a ShopBot 4x8 table for seven years now. Even though I purchased it used, it has been an absolute workhorse. The machine is incredibly reliable; we use it for about 5 hours a day on average, and it has had virtually zero downtime—and any downtime we did have was entirely our own fault. What's truly impressive is that ShopBot's customer service has still helped me out on several occasions, even as a second owner. They clearly understand the importance of quality tools and customer support. For us, ShopBot has absolutely earned our future business when we decide to upgrade, and I cannot recommend them enough. You might find a flashier, better-looking CNC machine, but it won't be a ShopBot, a company that has prioritized function, reliability, and ease of use over form. At the end of the day I just need a machine that WORKS! 100,000% recommended.
